The only ones I've played are I, II, and FFTA. I've heard that all three are amazing. The question is, should I get a PS2 so I could play VII-IX? Or should I wait for the PS3?

A PS2 will let you play FFVII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, and Tactics, so I don't see why you wouldn't. Since the PS3 isn't out yet (I'm not even sure if there is a date set), I don't see the point in waiting...

PS3 will be out next year some time. It's up to you if you feel you can wait or not. If you do get a PS2 I hear that they might be dropping the price to Ł70 when the Xbox360 comes out.

If you aren't getting a PS3 then yes, get a PS2.

If you've gone this long without a PS2, you probably won't mind not having a PS3, so sure, go for it.

The entire FF series, minus Crystal Chronicles and III (I think that's it, right?), are playable on PS2, so I'd definitly recommend getting one.
If you're going to count side-games like Crystal Chronicles, there's also Mystic Quest, Tactics Advance, Before Crisis, and Crisis Core.

Those arent Final Fantasy games, those are SaGa and Seiken Densetsu games.

id get the PS three because some later FFs will be on PS3 but if it cant play PS1 games you better get a PS1.
