I know Throwing Muses - not well, actually. I know better Kristin Hersch in her solist albums. "Aching for you" is one of the sweetest and saddest songs ever made.
As for Tanya Donnelly and Belly, I don't know much, I oly listened to them once...
Throwing Muses were discovered by Gary Smith and signed to 4AD records in I believe 1985. Smith discovered the Pixies 2 years later, and they got their big break as TM's opening act. Pixie Kim Deal and TM Tanya Donnelly later formed The Breeders in I believe 1989, and they released their masterpiece, Pod, in 1990. Donnely quit after it became apparent that The Breeders was Deal's band, and released one good and one so-so album with Belly. No idea what happened to the other members, tho, and really haven't heard much of their stuff.
