That tends to make the render choppy, though. My current sig for example I took a screen shot of EoFF forums and then took the drop tool(photoshop) and made the brownish/tan or whatever color background, so it *looks* transparent, but it really isn't. Little things like that can go along way :P As for the white line around the render, though, its not really there, it just appears because of the file type, for example I took a perfectly cut render, put a black background behind it and there was no white line, however, I saved it as .gif and .png and uploaded it and there was a white line, I did my simple "trick" I mentioned above, and I got the result in my signature right now.
