$20 says Bush is trying to look like a dumbass.
There would be some sort of debate here--if man's concept of God existed, that is.

Why? Did I flame anyone? Did I pick on a memeber here? I certainly didn't imply that I was making fun of anyone. And my comment was on topic. I have a right to believe that man's concept of God isn't accurate. I was creatively saying that I think it's pointless to argue an issue over something that doesn't exist.Originally Posted by bipper
Yes you have a right to belive. For the sake of this thread, it was simply saying the Bush can indeed talk to GOD. It seems like another idiotic blow at christianity... agian :rolleyes2 Its old, and I am really frankly sick of it. Its once thing to hold a bleif, but to jump all over in forums and post it in any misconstrued way is completley annoying.Originally Posted by Sephex
Yes Bush talks to what he belives is GOD; please keep the conversation on this, instead of jumping in and starting an argument that does not belong here... [EDIT]*I would personally call it trolling*[/EDIT] kthx

Fine. I believe that it is pointless for Bush to talk to an invisible man in the sky.Originally Posted by bipper
EDIT: That, and I feel incredibly uncomfortable with the fact that a man can decide American's fate based on a 2,000 year old book that was written by many people with conflicting opinions.
EDIT2: I don't take that many shots at religion. In most threads about religion, I don't post.
talking to god is okay. having god talk to you is questionable. having the god in your head tell you to start wars seems like messiah complex to me.
Ironically, the messiah (Jesus) never heard things from God, whilst others have been told to start holy wars.

Don't let's get started on religious games, please. Heh.
I will mention just once - that's no reason, according to the Bible. When Jesus was on the cross, he looked up to the heavens and shouted, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachtani", or, "My god, my god, why have you forsaken me?"
So he was pretty creepily schizophrenic, if he was god.
Well the crusades didn't start because it was the christain thing to do. It really was because during the dark ages. Daily life in Europe was brutal and harsh with no passion for human life. Sackings, burnings, raids, killing, pillagings. Had always happened. Violent warfares. Now Europe at the tim was literally tearing each other apart. So The church set up a few rules. That didn't work for long. so thye had to think of a way to take everyone's mind off of killing each other. So they started the crusades. Worked out for awhile. Anyway when they took Jerusalem, and Palestine. They were pretty much like an island surrounded by enemies.Yeah lets not get into that.Originally Posted by Hachifusa
Also if oyu think about it. They didn't even have the supply train in the dark ages yet when the roman empire nad hell even in Alexander's time. Armies used the Supplie and Chain methods.
So WTF? happened to human's during the middle ages?
Oh yeah. The poor must stay ignorant and must not learn to read or think outside the box. While hte nobles and rich could. Works out for awhile but there was no advancement. Just repression.
anyway yeah Bush sucks

But for the "political leaders shouldn't have a strong backing in religion", perhaps you are right because religion has caused many problems. Hell the entire crusades were based upon religion and so is the war over Jerusalem. But I belive that political leaders should have faith and lots of it. I would be very scared to see someone with that amount of power not believe in some form of a god. History has told us many times that when power reaches the hands of a faithless man tyranny is soon to follow.
Since I was so politely informed, although I figured my attempt wouldn't work (cheap shots are rarely successful), I will follow by the rules.

The Game
As of now I have become a slave to the evil that is advertisement. Damn The Man. Seriously, I would appreciate it if you just checked it out. I have only three people thus far (including myself) and I think I've got a pretty good concept going.
For some reason I was speaking to my Driving instructor about this and he said "Well, it makes sense....if there is a God and he wanted to talk to someone to get something done, then it's logical he'd speak to one of the most - if not the most powerful - man on the planet."
Hmm. Still, for all we know Bush may of heard God say it. Bush may of thought he heard someone mention it. Bush may of been telling porkies when he met the Palestinian leader...but whatever, I still think its poor form for a leader to lead in whatever direction a voice tells him. Oh well.
Chaos
You know, if god really said something to him there would be no reason for him to tell us. I mean as it is it appears he is using it as an excuse. And also isn't his approval down to 37% now? oh wow, that is low.
