Mario, should Luigi try to get back from the ledge, a good Mario can use his Cape attack and make him go the other way since Luigi's main way of getting back to the stage horizontally would be his head launcher. His vertical way of recovery can be trumped with a meteor smash(as long as you dont go face on cuz they YOU will be launched sky high). Just knock him out and he wins. ;p

Erm, anyway, too bad we don't have SSBM. I'd say Link would probably win, because Sonic may be fast, but Link can simply use Din's Fire and Sonic would lose easily.

Link has a sword, as well as a large arsenal of other weapons. Sonic has speed and...... umm...... more speed. Definately Link.
Since Sonic doesn't go from Zero to lightspeed in a split second, Link would just have to freeze time with the Ocarina and kick his ass.
