what were they're main purpose in the game? I can't quite remember lol thanks for help ^^

i'm curious too lol. something about edea's seeds of the future. all i remember is that (SPOILER)they were slaughtered by ulti in the end.

They were Edea's SeeD--at least, that's what they called themselves. (As opposed to Cid and Garden's mercenaries, I suppose.) Their main function in the game was to protect Ellone.

They had a sailing ship so they wouldn't stay in any one place for too long. It kind of (SPOILER) vanishes once you get the Ragnarok.

They were rather mysterious, but I got the impression that they were just a floating Garden, charged with the regular SeeD mission of defending agaisnt the sorceress, but also with protectign and rearing Edea's orphans (the Centra orphanage is not exactly up to code). The White SeeD themselves were orphans raised by Edea:
Squall
"You guys call her Matron too, huh?"

White SeeD Leader
"Yes. Ever since we were little."

So perhaps "Edea's SeeD" was a literal meaning; that unlike Gardens who recruit outsiders, all of the White SeeD are "children" of Edea.
