Yeah, the entire Indian subcontinent is bordered by geological faults. The Himalayas are testament to the size and power of the forces involved, having been forced up as a result of constant geological processes. Earthquakes are ridiculously powerful phenomena, and are neither seasonal nor even reliably predictable... scary stuff. My entire country *is* just the eruption of land where two plates are colliding, so it's a particular worry here.
