Later on in the game, you get the option of capturing chocobos and training them... if you find the chocobo ranch

so do i!!! even with the greens the chocobos don't give me enough time to throw them.... and even when i do get one it runs away... i love chocobos but they obviously don't love me!

That's why you equip a garment grid with first strike or auto haste or whatever those garment grids have on.
