I recommend getting a basic 'teach yourself' language book, a dictionary and a whole lotta willpower.

My friend is attempting to teach herself it and she says its hard trying to learn all the alphabet.

Half of the Japanese words I know probably aren't suitable for these forums, and since I learned about 20 new rude words, that'll knock it up to about 3/4 of the Japanese words I know.

Anyway, if you buy all the Shonen Jumps that have come out so far, and keep doing so until it ends, you'll probably learn a lot.

The only japanese phrase I know besides "Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto" is inappropriate for here and is probably very ghetto Japanese, so I won't bother posting it. xD
