Yeah, it's stupid and annoying, but who cares? Sometimes it's a little funny watching people overreact.
I don't think any of them are gay. But my friends and I used to joke around about how feminine the male characters are becoming, just being humorous and such. Of course you have Tidus looking like Meg Ryan in some pictures. The main male characters are looking more boyish rather than manly.
