    Can somebody please explain what a trekie is, and then tell me what the trouble with them is? (I clicked into this thread to learn what exactly the trouble with this mystical beast from far away plains is, but I was deceived!)

    It's not trekkie...it's trekker. I like some of the Start Trek series (specifically DS9 and TNG) but not to the point of being a fanatic.

    I really enjoyed TNG, and Voyager, in particular. The original series was far before my time, and I find the re-runs of that one way too cheesy to watch. Even TNG now looks really cheesy.

    I'd never consider myself a Trekkie, or Trekker, or whatever.

    Funny, I've only ever heard them referred to as Trekkies.

    Anyways, even though I like Star Trek, I also like this:

    I myself am a trekkie. Mainly due to watching about 5 hours of Star Trek every weekday during the summer cause nothing better was on. But as for which series' I like, I prefer TNG over all, then DS9 closely behind it. Both are very excellent, I love DS9's continuing plot, but TNG by far has the best characters (Worf, Data, and Jiordi foreva!!!!)
