Thread: Reno and Rude

    Reno and Rude

I don't know about anyone else, but I believe the they were only put in the movie for comic relief. Like when Cloud locks Reno out, Reno hits Rude in the face, the sign falls on Rude's head, Reno breaks Rude's glasses (and he gets out a new pair ) etc. There are heaps more instances. Sure they are great fighters, and really put in their own edge, but i believe they are there for comic relief.

    What do you think?

That's a lot of what they were in the game. I assume that's why their theme was so mellow. They were never really a serious threat. They had a job to do. They tried to have fun doing it. Its just the way they are.

They were there mainly to keep Loz and Yazoo in action later in the movie. I loved watching Reno fight Yazoo. There should have been awesome. I think the humour part of them was just an add on to there roles as opposed to there main purpose.

That is so hilarious! I love Reno and Rude, they gave me a good laugh.. I believe too, that they were the "humour part" of the movie..

I was pretty happy that they played on Reno and Rude's dynamic in the movie to such an extent. I don't think their roles changed so much in the game to movie transition, just that the film medium was better suited at portraying the characters than a video game in 1997 was able to.

Comic element, definately. And they succeed at the job with flying colors! I'm going to go pop it into the dvd player again

PS - On their portrayal in the video game.. even in 97 when 7 came out.. I strongly believed the Turks to be of comic element only, especially when they go rolling into the snow because of that white boulder? At the end of disc 1 was it? And that theme music... TO DIE FOR!
