Thread: Is this True?

  1. #1

    Default Is this True?

I`ve got this messgae form my e-mail:

the 1st of november , we will have to pay for the use of our MSN and email accounts unless we send this message to at least 18
contacts on your contact list. It's no joke if you don't believe me
then go to the site ( www.msn.com ) and see for yourself. Anyways
once you've sent this message to at least 18 contacts , your msn
dude will become blue. please copy and paste don't forward cos
people won't take notice of it otherwise.

Have you ever got this message?

Those messages are as old as messenger services themselves. I've read hundreds of 'omg we're gonna have to pay for msn/aim/myspace/yahoo/whatever the hell else' over the years. They arent true.

Also, think about it logically. Why would MSN let you out of paying because you forwarded a message?

Never trust these sorts of messages unless they come from officials of whatever service.

Yes, I've gotten it for AIM, never my MSN though. Its a flat out lie from the looks of it though. Official e-mails wouldn't use words like "dude" and "cos"... Atleast, I don't think they would. Did you check the site though? And what was the e-mail addy who sent it. Sounds like another lame chain letter to me...I have no clue why people get kicks out of those. Maybe the internet is the only place where they can find enough people with even more stupidity than them, so they get their kicks there? Well I'm rambling now. Later.

I think you`re right, but this is the forth time that I`ve got the same message. In the first time I thoght is kind of joke, but when I`ve got the last three message, I decide to make sure is it right or wrong.

Well of course you're going to see the same message over and over, because it's a chain letter. It gets forwarded to someone, and that person isnt sure so, just to be on the safe side, forwards it to everyone and their mother. And all those people forward it, and so on and so forth. You'e likely to see it again and again.

I've seen them time and time again, for that past 7 years. Like:

"Send this to 10 people or your MSN account will become disabled"

    and

"forward this to as many people as possible, because Bill Gates has a deal with AOL so that for every person this was ever forwarded to you get a nickel, which is 4324521 x 5 cents = $21,626!!!"

    and

"please forward this, my baby has a tumor from repeated beatings and has cancer, she'll die if she doesn't get the right surgery so please forward this on and I'll receive 5 cents to go towards the surgery for every person who reads this"

    and even

"This is a good luck chain email that has gone around the world 10 times. If you don't send it to 23,421 people in 10 minutes, you will get bad luck, you will trip when crossing the street, fall in a pile of goat $hit, get beaten by a possessed hamster, and die of rabies. If you do send this, the long lost love of your life will come to your door tomorrow, and ask you to marry him/her!!!"

    and so on.
They're all bull$hit. Just delete it.

And it is really annoying to constantly get these from people who aren't sure if they're legit or not.

Chain mail is for one purpose : Advertisement Spam. Once the email gets passed around loads of times, it will eventually end up in someone's inbox who happens to supply to ad companies, with a list of about a thousand emails, therefore a thousand potential customers. The main problem with this is that even if you don't forward it, if you've been sent it, your name will appear in the header of the message, and you can bet one other person on the list will be stupid enough to forward it on. So even being sent them is a curse. For this reason I regularly change my email address, about every year or so. I also punch anyone I know in the face who sends me one of these emails for wasting my time.

We should all send donations to MSN anyway, because their Hotmail and MSN Messenger service is so great, and they deserve our money. Right? Right?

    Alright then.
