I bet your answer:he was cured by Edea for asking SeeD meaning.
Then,why dont Edea just ask this from Zell and Selphie?
Perhaps you may also think that Seifer had asked Edea cured Squall for "fun"...But he is just a puppet,isnt he?
Squall probably ended up his life here if no one can give me the answer~.~

EdeaUltimecia assumed that Cid had informed Squall of the true purpose of SeeD, but Cid hadn't and does not until after NORG.

Anyway, there are a few points to take note off.
Edea wanted to know the real meaning of SeeD from Squall and Co.
So she need them or at least one alive.
One good idea is to imprison the others and interrogate one of them while using the other as hostages.
Since Seifer "like" Squall so much, Squall might be the picked or he is the leader of the group and might know more than the others.
So Squall is needed to be kept alive for his info on SeeD.
Whether how they heal him or did he even got injuried is a mystery.
