True, but he still had much more interest in studying than giving her a tatoo. Besides, Cloud was implanted with jenova cells, yet he never recieved a tatoo because no one ever got around to it. (No, it isn't because he was a failed experiment. Read the notes in the ShinRa Mansion library to find out that he was actually sucessful.)
