Thread: i'll just ask the question in the title so no one has to actually read the thread

Default i'll just ask the question in the title so no one has to actually read the thread

do you think it's a good practice to place the thread topic in the thread title? or is it better to make people read the thread to find out? i know most of the threads HAVE the topic in the title, but is it really all that great? i know that personally I'm more likely to go to a thread if there's a title that makes me wonder what the topic is. discuss.

I agree, if the thread makes you wonder than you're more likely to want to know what it is.

I just point my cursor over the title and read what it says when the first couple sentences come up. If It's remotely anything interesting I'll click, but if it isn't, I'll leave it alone.

Rubedo: I like thread titles that have absolutely nothing to do with what the actual thread is about. For instance, a thread named "Mother-in-law" which asks you if you like tight jeans or night. That is my ideal thread.

I've been known to change thread titles if they are really stupidly vague. But I haven't done that in awhile.

So yeah, I think the title should have something to do with the thread. But that's just me. It's annoying to see a thread titled "Hippos are crazy!" and then open it up and the text be "Happy Birthday Big D!"

I like to see the topics in the title because I hate wasting my time and going to a really stupid thread with a bogus title to lure people into reading them.
