to save people flicking back and forth between the pages, i'll post the riddle again. this is Lenna's riddle:

Because of all our memories
Abusing every path
Retrieving all we have to get
Renewing all that's past
Each temperament, enjoyment phases
To save the world & fast.

stanza 1: i think this is relating to the lifestream and people's (namely shinra) abuse of it. also barrets attempts to stop this abuse. i think the flower is supposed to represent the life from the lifestream

stanza 2: cloud losing himself in his head i think, and taking zack's "disguise" the paths being the paths in his memory, and he is renewing his own life by killing the wrong paths or memory's in his mind. i think the fighting could either be cloud battling with himself, or cloud being the best fighter

stanza 3: i actually think this is about sephiroth, and aeris' link is the fact that they're both ancients. i think shinra links in because they're looking for sephiroth, who aeris tried to stop herself

stanza 4: i think this is referring to the love triangle between cloud aeris and tifa, and tifa trying to get cloud to notice her while aeris makes her sacrifice. tifa has always been there for cloud. i think the "who are you?" is because even tifa doesn't know cloud until the lifestream incident

stanza 5: i think this is to do with red XII's relationship with bugenahgen. red always looks to him for answrs but can't go where he goes because he can fly. i think the keeping pace is more about bugenhagens knowldeg triumphing over red's.

stanza 6: i think this is referring to the highwind always helping the situation. theres safety inside (no battles i guess) and u can revive if ur weak or dead. and don't hesitate to use these facilities or u may wind up dead. cid links to highwind obviously, and i think the music directors link to venus gospel (cid's ultimate weapon).

the link i can think of is the lifestream. barret trying to save it, cloud finding himself in it, aeris using it (holy materia), tifa using it to get closer to cloud, bugenhgen tells u about it in the 1st place, and the highwind always helps u wen u get too close for comfort (first northern crater incident, final screenplay).

so my guess is that the answer is LIFESTREAM.

if i'm wrong can u please tell me if anything i have sed is rite or if i'm on the rite lines or if i'm even close! thnx in advance

I think I already have mentioned that each paragraph is in relation to it's character and also the answer. There are multiple meanings. You want to concentrate on separating them both. By looking at one side of it you're completely being ignorant (this is not nasty critisism btw) of the other facts of the riddle. Try looking a bit deeper. Think of as many angles as you can then try and see which one fits both the character as well as every character. The answer is what fits every character.

Lenna I don't have an answers at the point i might think of one while i do the following.

Barret=The way Lenna has put it is a good description of the journey he under takes

Cloud=A wicked desrciption of the pain and thought of cloud

Aeries=The hardest one to get but heres it goes= aeries returns to the lifestream when she dies and when cloud has thoughts of her after her death there is an eerie feel wheter it be the music or not.

Tifa=Tifa gives her soul into trying to cure cloud when he is alone she comes and saves his soul and heart.

Red= I belvieve this refers to the torture hojo put red through all the pain suffering and anger.
Cid=The Highwind the only way to do so much a place where death of those close is reflected and the pride of cid

I think what Lenna means is the answers can be interpreted in more than one way. So, while it refers to the characters, we must tyr and find the other meaning, the answer.

When I read the riddle i suddenly got an idea. I'm pretty sure it's wrong but i have to guess:

Isn't the hole riddle telling the story of FFVII in some way?
The names of chars are in row of their appearing.

To the storytelling:

stanza 1: The beginning. Barret, Cloud and Avalanche destroying the mako-reactors. the flower is relating to aeris when he meets her in the slums.

stanza 2. Hmmm, when Cloud fight against the first Jenova and sees the ghost of sephiroth.

stanza 3: when Sephiroth talks to Cloud and sais, he's just a puppet. aeris dies. that means shinra doesn't have to hunt Cloud anymore.

stanza 4: when tifa and Cloud fall into the lifestream. Cloud thought first he's alone, but then Tifa show's him who he is and that he's not alone.

stanza 5: I'm not sure about this one: Is this, when Bugenhagen dies?

stanza 6: At the end, when you fly to the crater you need the highwind. Cid's the Pilot and i think Cid's music theme is one of the best Nobuo maede in FFVII. Also the theme is very heroic. The last sentence means, that Cloud and the others have to hurry 'cause of Meteor. Or it menas that Cloud have to face sephiroth a last time.

Ok then, ignoring the chars and the music, here is what I have by verse. The full version is about 6 pages...this is hard.

BARRET : Well, encouragement seem a theme. Mementoes of the past come to mind. AVALANCHE come to mind. Also Sephiroth. Ill go for Vincent though.

CLOUD : Vincent, the Turks. IT understands, i dont.

AERIS : PLEASE not the fake masamune. Weapons, items, a few things.

TIFA : I think i took this verse down wrong. Again, mementoes? A hint? A helper? good or malign. Bugenhagen?

RED XIII : Ultima Weapon? A battle object? When you take yer place, get in a fight?

CID : Emerald Weapon? By this point im getting out of ideas. Its a nessecary point, it seems. Against the clock? The mako reactor, EW, the train...Time when you died, not literally? Or a pheonix down? Life materia? The planet mayhaps?

Devil phoenix you didn't say this idea, you said characters, FF7 and lifestream. I'm afraid you're answer is vague I don't know if you're on about the whole FFVII game storyline in general (including hidden plots such as yuffie), or just the 1 plot. The answer is not FF7 in general, because that includes everything about the game. The answer is the single plot line everything falls under.. The forced storyline. If you notice, each paragraph is in relation to a character, aswell as the actual storyline. Each song is in relation to the songs played in those special moments and also the words of some of the most important things in the game.

To save the world & fast. <--- this is in reference to how barret feels about everything, as well as what we do ourselves. Many people have memories of the storyline, and play the game over and over. Renewing all thats past is a hint to the fact that we replay the game, maybe not everyone does, but most people do.

Dying. <--- Clouds feelings as a so called puppet, and also again how we play the game, when we die in the game, we try again to understand what we did wrong. We open new area's by completing one section of the storyline. We cannot skip any area's. The disguise is the fact we are the characters we are playing. We control them. and whilst ingame, that is some sort of disguise.

Says he. <---- This again refers to Aeris aswell as the storyline itself. The storyline is everywhere along the roads we take, (remember this is the forced storyline I've chosen not the whole basis of FF7. There is a difference.) The music helps to give the specific feeling of the event/area we are in. I used the word haunted in this in regards to Cloud's story in Nibelheim. That place haunted him in his dreams and his mind due to the fact he didn't know who he was, I am not real, says he is in reference to Sephiroths saying to him. As well as the fact Aeris was no longer human, therefore in a sense, no longer real.

I give a nudge or two is in reference to the fact that there are some things that you struggle with along the game, but also with the fact that during the storyline, there are many things that make you bond with your characters, and become one with them (only for some). For every whisper, line or fate, this was a big clue for you lot, Line = lines of the story, each character's fate/destiny, and the whispers are just clouds thoughts. Alone you are, not true, the storyline needs more than just a story to be successful, The music, The backgrounds, the characters themselves.

<--- I give up in saying it's about the character :P, you know /understand now that it is. The game's storyline regardless of anything else is what reaches out to you, and many people will say that it is a game that can be replayed many times. Everytime you take your place is when we start to play the game again, when you "become" your character to play again. Deny me of my luring games is just to show that some people will say that they are not addicted to this game, it's a very brilliant game, and it is very much loved by many people, including myself. Luring games are the way the storyline touches you/brings you in.

<--- If you don't play the game, the game doesn't play by itself, therefore it's over. The storyline is your guide to get to the end, you cannot fall off track/skip any bits, you HAVE to continue along the forced storyline in order to complete the game. In times that you need, in times that you died is in reference to how you play the game again, you die, you live, and you struggle. Hesistating in many parts of the game can lead you to your death, you need quick thinking most of the time.
