Light Mage, you're correct. You can steal Earth Drums, he doesn't use it as an attack. The 'inverted arch' refers to the plant roots that dip into the water, and the 'celestial march' is his Stardust March attack.
Oh yes, of course - Earth Drum is an item with Quake3 effect, isn't it?
