Ill give courtesy where it is deserved and where it is recieved.
I definitly think that demanding reasoning is simply trying to improve the thread, and makes the riddle much more enjoyable for all involved.
EDIT : Yes, I recall those dark days. But, now is the golden ages of riddle. We aint like the FFX forum, we have quality riddle here! GUESSES spoil things, so do idiots who dont think straight to save their live. Listen, the riddler is providing a service to the guess, not the other way round.
