stanza 1: i think this is relating to the lifestream and people's (namely shinra) abuse of it. also barrets attempts to stop this abuse. i think the flower is supposed to represent the life from the lifestream
stanza 2: cloud losing himself in his head i think, and taking zack's "disguise" the paths being the paths in his memory, and he is renewing his own life by killing the wrong paths or memory's in his mind. i think the fighting could either be cloud battling with himself, or cloud being the best fighter
stanza 3: i actually think this is about sephiroth, and aeris' link is the fact that they're both ancients. i think shinra links in because they're looking for sephiroth, who aeris tried to stop herself
stanza 4: i think this is referring to the love triangle between cloud aeris and tifa, and tifa trying to get cloud to notice her while aeris makes her sacrifice. tifa has always been there for cloud. i think the "who are you?" is because even tifa doesn't know cloud until the lifestream incident
stanza 5: i think this is to do with red XII's relationship with bugenahgen. red always looks to him for answrs but can't go where he goes because he can fly. i think the keeping pace is more about bugenhagens knowldeg triumphing over red's.
stanza 6: i think this is referring to the highwind always helping the situation. theres safety inside (no battles i guess) and u can revive if ur weak or dead. and don't hesitate to use these facilities or u may wind up dead. cid links to highwind obviously, and i think the music directors link to venus gospel (cid's ultimate weapon).
the link i can think of is the lifestream. barret trying to save it, cloud finding himself in it, aeris using it (holy materia), tifa using it to get closer to cloud, bugenhgen tells u about it in the 1st place, and the highwind always helps u wen u get too close for comfort (first northern crater incident, final screenplay).
so my guess is that the answer is LIFESTREAM.
if i'm wrong can u please tell me if anything i have sed is rite or if i'm on the rite lines or if i'm even close!
