When I read the riddle i suddenly got an idea. I'm pretty sure it's wrong but i have to guess:
Isn't the hole riddle telling the story of FFVII in some way?
The names of chars are in row of their appearing.
To the storytelling:
stanza 1: The beginning. Barret, Cloud and Avalanche destroying the mako-reactors. the flower is relating to aeris when he meets her in the slums.
stanza 2. Hmmm, when Cloud fight against the first Jenova and sees the ghost of sephiroth.
stanza 3: when Sephiroth talks to Cloud and sais, he's just a puppet. aeris dies. that means shinra doesn't have to hunt Cloud anymore.
stanza 4: when tifa and Cloud fall into the lifestream. Cloud thought first he's alone, but then Tifa show's him who he is and that he's not alone.
stanza 5: I'm not sure about this one: Is this, when Bugenhagen dies?
stanza 6: At the end, when you fly to the crater you need the highwind. Cid's the Pilot and i think Cid's music theme is one of the best Nobuo maede in FFVII. Also the theme is very heroic. The last sentence means, that Cloud and the others have to hurry 'cause of Meteor. Or it menas that Cloud have to face sephiroth a last time.
