OK, got one, seems a bit easy to me, but anyway:
The actions of malcontents,
did not claim my life.
But still I am useless, gone, over,
no use for anything, not good, not bad,
not on earth or beyond.
Still, I house something special, unique,
on which you may call,
when challenged, when in danger,
for forty-six in all.
What am I, and what is the "something special"?
