I know its not my riddle, but can other people start breaking down their reasoning? That way correct lines of thinking can be identified rather than repeatedly taking stabs in the dark...

I agree. I can only comment accurately on your thoughts if I see them spelled out. Just posting one comment for each line or stanza can prove really helpful, even if one has no finished guess.

Edit: Is it the Rocket Town materia shop? Where you can buy Barrier materia?

Edit #2: Um, my reason is... no arms to provide - I'm assuming is armour, as you can't buy armour there? & no rest because you can't rest in a materia shop. Um... it's optional to go in the shop & the Barrier materia is green. The heaven's grant & aggregate power makes me think it is materia. Not sure about the rest, but thrice a wall reminds me of Barrier, MBarrier & Wall.

I think it's the battle with Proud Clod. I'm not sure if it was optional or not, but I thought you could avoid it by going a different way (not sure). My reasoning is, you get no rest in the middle of the battle, and Heideggier(or whatever) wears green.

It's not the Materia shop in Rocket Town. "Heaven's grant" does not refer to a materia, however, "aggregate power" does. "Thrice a wall" has nothing to do with any magic.

No, not the Proud Clod battle. The "No arms I provide, no rest" works alone as a clue, but most things don't provide arms or rest. The line is only really helpful when you follow up with the second line. Also, remember that the test mentioned is "in favour of the green". Heidegger is hardly in favour by the battle

Nope. The heaven's grant is also not the Highwind (more literal, even), and "green" is not the Green Chocobo. Maybe look up alternate meanings of "green"?

Still not right. You're thinking far too metaphorically, except for the next to last line, where you're not being metaphorical enough.

Here's a few hints:
The word "aggregate" even tells you what materia it's referring to.
"there is no need to fear" is (arguably) the least important line, it's mostly there for rhyme and rhythm. Otherwise, basically every line and word counts for something more than it says.
