(SPOILER) the second line is actually a time-old riddle in the real world. ask someone if they know the answer and you'll probably find the answer to this riddle

Is it the Northern Crater? It seems to fit the rest of the riddle.

yes the answer to the riddle is a hole, but not the northern crater.

remember what BG said about being green with envy . . . .

Is it the Ancient Forest, the place you get the Apocalypse sword, Ultima Weapon creates a Hole there after you defeat him, thus granting you access to the forest without a green Chocobo?

though i get bigger the more you take away --> holes get bigger as you take more out of them
unknown is the creation, from above of down below --> we never learn why the hole is there, it just is
my secret's guarded by a great envy--> emerald weapon (green with envy) hangs round the hole as BG said.
