i don't know exactly why but i think it may be Sephiroths sword.
Mostly because of the "she murders twice" Sephiroth kills two people with his sword, Aerith and President Shinra.

Hears voices speak, and freudian misnomer kinda go with her since is was meant to be Aerith and she hears the planet's voice.

yep!

"from light to darkness" -- moved from Junon to Midgar
"Freudian misnomer" -- named sister ray, but Freud would've said guns are phallic
"now hears voices speak" -- during the Midgar firing sequence, you can actually hear voices. It's the only time in the game when you can, I believe.
"helpless to cease them" -- obviously "she" is not in control of her actions, and can't stop the orders

the iron ginat in northern cave? it's a lot taller than ur party (looms over) and it's sword swing hits all ur party
