From an inspired self-induced typo, let's all talk about Shotguns through the gaming ages. From the spirte based, double whammy of the Double-barreled Shotgun of Doom, to the more tactical based ones from various squad based shooters, discuss your favourite two-handed boomsticks nyar.

I love double shotguns in Timesplitters 2, and the shotguns in Halo 1 and 2.
indeed, all the shot guns in timesplitters 2/3 are great.
I love shottys in games.....
The shotgun is by far my favorite weapon in Halo 2, next to the Energy Sword. Those two pull off a pretty deadly combination.

I also like the shotguns in TS2 but im not that keen on the ones in TSFP.
I always found the Shotgun on Halo 2 lacking. Then again I always played on Legendary, which means usually a full clip of Brute Shots to any enemy's face to take them down. You'd be better off throwing a twig whittled into a Polar Bear most of the time, it'd produce the same effect.Originally Posted by TurkSlayer

Ahh, legendary. I've only beaten Normal and Hard, and I've been working my way up to Legendary. However, in Normal and Hard, the shotgun can usually take anything out in one or two hits at close range. But I don't know about Legendary.
System Shock 2's Shotgun is disgustingly satisfying.
DIS-FREAKIN'-GUSTING.
CS:S semi auto n00b gun.
It has different calibre bullets, upgrades, and is probably the only shotgun to work effectively at long distances.
Incidently it's nice to finally meet someone else who's played SS2. Seems like I was the only person on the planet to have done so. I eagerly await the return of Little Miss Psychotic AI in some form...eventually.

Shoyku posted a thread ages ago explaining that it had become abandonware, I downloaded it almost immediately and fell in love.
Shame the Shotgun sorta runs out of steam by the time you get the Assault Rifle.
I still used it for kicks though.
Every weapons is a n00b gun in Source.
I like the Shredder shotgun in Turok 2, the Striker in RE4, and you cant forget Ash's Boomstick.

But yeah when i DID post a year ago I was an ass to everyone. So sorry about that. You can totally tell I used to think i was "gangsta" just by my name. Boy have I changed.
