is it yu yevon? technically ur aeons become his appendages and as u reduce their HP ur reducing his as well (technically) causing him to "lose his extremities). and he can kill you as much as he wants cos u have auto-life constantly

i'm gonna guess the enemy is cactuar as you have to persist through their constant evasion and be really accurate. i'm gonna guess that "me" is wakka as he is the most accurate and easiest to use to take cactuars down

since basically he is the fast one in the group and takes down the wolf's and such.... and hits everytime, and he can sometimes take down flyers too
