The souls part makes me think the number found in Revelation refers to people, or at least sentient beings. There is 144,000 as in the number of people that God saved

Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. (Rev 7:4)
but there isn't even a monster in FFX, let alone one that can be Bribed for Remedies, with 5760 HP (the amount needed to be Bribed for a minimum of 144,000 gil). My other line of thought is the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In fact, now that I think about it, that's exactly the number I need.

Solutions to your problems - we've established that it's Remedy
Just consult your opponent - we also know that this is Bribe
The same amount as souls - You can Bribe one of four, and only four monsters, to get Remedies; Ragora, Sandragora, Grat, and Ochu.
On the day of judgement - Four Horsemen

I don't know how to put this into a logical answer, so I'll say four is the number you're thinking of, for the above reasons.

And BTW, 42 actually does exist in Revelation...

But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. (Rev 11:2)

I'll give it to Firo Volondé.

Ochus in the Monster Arena will give 70 Remedies for 144,000 Gil.

And the Bible is not the first book that springs to mind when I hear the number 42.

I was so thinking of putting Ochu over Sandragora, but I had no idea what the number in the Bible was. It makes sense now. xD

    Good riddle.

    Spirit Lance?

It's found on Thundar Plains (where it rains a lot) and you have to free it by activating Qactaur stones and following the ghost-like Qactaur.

The field of flowers could either refer to the butterfly catching game in Macalania Woods or (a long shot) the Farplane which lies nearby.

    Baaj Temple

a spirit embodied - Fayth of Anima
in a raining tomb - I don't think it rains, but it's very damp
covering the void - Reference to Chambers of the Fayth being a route to the Farplane in X-2
to a field of flowers - Farplane in X-2
    This is a signature.

The statues the fayth of ixion is sealed in?

  13. #3133

    Default

    correct!

a spirit embodied --> the spirite of the fayth is trapped in the statue
in a raining tomb --> the only place you see rain in the game is the thunder plains, thunder = ixion
    covering the void
to a field of flowers --> in FFX-2, this is the first hole yuna falls down to land in the field of flowers in the farplane. sorry to anyone who hasn't played X-2

    ur go qwertyxsora
