yes the first letter in each line spells Godhand... the easy solution which eiko guy figured out and the other lines...

d | on't get too carried away now! there are other CWs and you need to power them up

h | eaven doesn't grant you celestial weapon although needs activation, and also GODhand god -heaven

abilities which require the sigil By the way...

d | oesn't it remind you of seafood or shellfish???? I've always thought it looked alot like a crabclaw although this line was very vague i know...

What about Yuna? The riddle might be about her doubts about continuing the pilgrimage. If she continues she will fall (die). The master (Yevon) sacrifices some of her own race (human/summoner).

Is it Seymour's mother leaving Guadosalam? She is not sure whether she should stay or go. Outside she will fall as she is alone and sick. The master will sacrifice... er, not sure about that one, to be honest. The Guado leader sacrifices his own son, Seymour?
