when time is a factor - Auron has to run to catch up to the others
with a friend's life on the line - Kimahri attacking Seymour on his own

The answer is the second battle with Seymour at the Highbridge, and seems to relate directly to Auron, who is the only person to consider both Kimahri and Kinoc a friend.

firo volonde is correct. it is the approach to seymour 2, where kimahri is already fighting him. the close friend is kinoc.

Is it a Treasure Chest/Mimic? Don't know if treasure chests count as enemys but it goes kind of hand in hand with mimics.
