Thread: FFX riddles

Is it anything to do with the name of the song or the songs actual content?

    Lacrymosa dies illa,
    qua resurget ex favilla,
    judicandus hom reus.
    Huis ergo, parce, Deus.
Pie Jesu Domine, dona eis requiem.

What tears on that day when there will rise from the ashes the guilty man to be judged. Therefore, O God, spare him. Gentle Jesus, grant them rest.

those are the lyrics anyway, I'll go out on a limb and Say Yuna's almost wedding to Seymour, what with the funeral requiem which I'm sure Yuna would have preffered.

Thanks to White for the sig <3

    Woe to the conquorer
    An act of contrition
    The only suitable music
    Would be a lacrimosa
Is it the battle against Sinspawn Gui in Mushroom Rock?

I don't recall music during this event, but a Lacrimosa would be appropriate for a very specific reason.

It's not Yuna's wedding, although your translation looks accurate. It's more to do with the meaning of the name of the song.

I hope you didn't have to translate that yourself. I didn't want anyone to work that hard to solve a riddle.

It's not the Sinspawn Gui fight.

The Lacrimosa, literally is a part of the Dies Irae sequence of the Requiem Mass. This portion of music is often used in films, TV, etc, to accompany a dark, frightening, or tragic event (basically plagiarising Wikipedia here ) Might the answer be Operation Mi'ihen?
    This is a signature.

It's not Operation Mi'ihen, although the answer could be described as dark, frightening, and tragic.

Would be a lacrimosa: lacrimosa might mean judgement day, tearful and sorrow

    Hmm, judgement day...

I'm going to guess that it might be the confrontation between the heros and Yunalesca. This includes the ghosts images of Auron, Braska and Jecht.

It's not the attack on Kilika nor the fight against Yunalesca.

And as for the meaning of Lacrimosa, I'd go with the second one.

Most events involving Seymour could fit the bill, especially your last battle with him. Is that the answer, or if not, is it anything to do with Seymour?

It's not the answer, but yes, it's related to Seymour.
