Too bad I don't have anything special that I strongly belive in that's even possible to fight for. But even if I had, I'm sure I wouldn't go as far as dying for it. If something really important to me was in danger, though... then I would do whatever I could to protect that thing.

Cloud No.9... you really facinate me. But I don't think you should be too sure that everything will go so wrong. I'm not saying that you're wrong when you belive that America eventually will try to dominate the entire world. But... you just seem a bit too sure about it, though. Things may change and no one can tell what will happen in the future for sure. If the time comes when you feel that you'll have to fight against America, then do so. But until then, I think you should try to calm down a bit.

I respect that you belive in what you belive in so strongly... but just try to not go too far too soon. You've got a life to live, you know. So don't waste it if it's not really, really necessary.

Ah, whatever... (hopes that anything he said actually makes sense)

I wonder if any cause is truly worth dying for? Only the dead can really answer that question, and well, dead people tend to not answer questions. Right now it seems kind of foolish to die for something when I'll only be able to know if it was worth it when I am dead.

Die for something I believe in? Is there any other way to die?

And now, about this whole war with America thing. Dude, what the smurf is your problem? I find it really insulting the way you keep on going about America. First, because most of what you say is stereotypical, ignorant, and only deals with about maybe a quarter of the population. I mean, seriously, what have we done that's so bad? I think a lot of your angst is mis-directed and un-warranted. I don't see where me or anyone I know anywhere in this country has done anything to deserve the attitude you direct towards us. Basically, you sound like a headstrong child who got told no too many times so he throws a temper-tantrum. And this war you speak of seams more a product of your imagination than anything concrete. America doesn't want to rule the world people. It's too much of a hassle. American's are content with what they have, with the exception of a few politicions who won't be in office much longer anyway. I think you need to seriously look at why the hell it is you hate us so much, because it's bordering on prejudice.

what does that even mean? 'it is the country i have issues with.' Do you mean the government? Because the entire American government changes everytime we get a new president. And I know for a fact that Bill Clinton never had any 'American Agenda for Global World Leadership.' So who has this agenda? Bush? He's not exactly the most popular guy right now, and I seriously doubt he'll be able to do much past the current war in Iraq. He's lost practically all of his backing both with the public and in the Senate and House of Representatives. The Republicans don't even like him anymore. So then what part of America is going to take over the world? The military isn't gonna do it, that's for sure, there isn't a general or admiral alive who would have enough power or influence to take over the world. So come on, who's gonna do it? The general population doesn't want it, the government won't have enough time to do it before it's replaced, the military doesn't have the power...who else is left?

bush and his cabbinet. the pnac members specifically. been their goal since their formation. read up on them it is quite interesting to see how we've got here and where we are headed.

and as for my meaning of the country. it is the politics and society and culture (or lack thereof).

As herbie said, it's highly unlikely they'll have enough power to do so before a new government comes in. Unless a major atrocity occurs, he's going to have some trouble getting support for any war.

Edit: I don't doubt if such an action does occur Cloud will happily blame it on the US government, of course.

Lets see if you'll say that in 8 years when Bush has become a Dictator and brought a Totalitarian regime.

I'm hoping that was deliberate hyperbole. No way in hell could he pull this off. It's not even worth debating. :rolleyes2

Germany was facing an entirely different set of circumstances. The people of America wouldn't stand for a dictatorship.

The American people when they realize what bush is doing may not accept it. But what can they do at that point in time? By that point in time it'll be a Police/Military state. If they even think your against him they'd kill you. That's what they did in Germany when it became obvious Hitler was a dictator.

Two things. One, the American people already realize most of the problems with Bush , at least the majority do. Two, just like DarkLady said, the situation is entirely different. Germany was in the middle of a depression, there were over twelve political parties vying for power, the people were bitter over WWI, yada yada yada I could go on forever. And besides, even though Bush has his problems, he's still nowhere near as bad as Hitler. He's just greedy and childish, he's not trying to support a superior race or kill millions of people just because of who they are. And before you even try to say it, no, that's not what he's doing in the middle east. He might be doing it for oil or to finish what daddy started, he might even be doing it because he's crazy and thinks he's on a mission from god, but he's not trying to take over the world and kill a bunch of jews.

And what do they do? Lay back and complain about Bush. Even though they know what he is doing they do nothing, ignorantlly expecting some election that might not happen if things keep going the way they still are.

There was only 2 major politcal parties during that time.
And you guys are in how much debt? Over a trillion dollars and dont forget the desperate attempt's to get oil. Which could be considered a depression.
