well, the japanese pronunciation would be tee-dus, but the american would be tie-dus, but i call him tie-dus cause it sounds cuter
I used to say Tie-Dus, but then when I played Kingdom Hearts, I found out it was tee-dus, which sounds like s* but whatever
thats because they're saying it in the japanese pronunciation, which could be the 'proper' way to say it but the americans would say it tie-dus if they saw it, so would many of us british
Tie-dus! Teedus sounds like someone screaming! ???
My brother's pronunciation:
Valefor-Gordon
Ixion -Wugwug
Shiva -Porno Woman
Can sins ever be forgiven?
Isn't there a Greek/Roman named Titus? That's probably why I pronounce it Tie-dus.
Shinryu (Shin-ree-you) means divine dragon judgementOriginally Posted by d£v!l'$ ph0£n!x
Whats funny is that in Street Fighter the movie, Guile kept saying it wrong, RYE-you.
trust me i know these names, im asian![]()
It was that way in the American cartoon too. I pronounced it wrong forever, myself. The Street Fighter anime set us all straight. But that's to be expected. It was a kazillion times better than either

Why do you imprison your saviour?
Has anyone put these through one of those crappy voice synthesisers that are available. I've just put Tidus in (which I pronounce Tie-dus), and it says Tie-de-us. Quite amusing I thought, I'll put the others through later...
omega weapon is definately o-meh-guh... o-mE-guh sounds really wierd.... so does may-guh
Valefor- Vail-for
Tidus- Ty- dus
Ixion- icks- eee- on
Catoblepas-... i pronounce this wierd.... Cat-ob-el-piss

onion knight i think is like the vegetable... idk i always thought he kinda looked like an onion... O_O
seymour says anima really awkwardly... is it anima as in anime but with an uh at the end or is it anima as in ah-nee-mah
I always say:
Omega: o-meg-a
Valefor: vail-for
Tidus: Tie-dus (as i said earlier)
Ixion: icks-e-on
Catoblepas: I have always said this as cat-a-lopez, dunno why
Yojimbo: yo-jim-bo
Onion: as in the vegetable
Anima: an-i-ma (i as in "it")
You can find most of the pronunciations of these online, since they are names that are based off Greek and Norwegian stories, like Ixion (ik·sye'·un) who's name is based of of a guy that zues punished for attempting to sleep with Hera. His offspring with a fake hera gave berth to the Centaurs note the horse appearance of Ixion. And Valefor is a king of demons in hell, name pronounced Vah-leh-for. Catoblepas is actually based off the wildebeast, greek legend has that it breaths mist that turnes you into stone, but for the life of me I cant find any pronunciation online, but I thinkworks best.cat-a-lopez
I also have a friend named Titus in tie, I dont know how Tidus is pronounced Tee dus in englis.
