xp patch fix?

i downloaded the patch for ff7 1.4 i open it and it says i have to install final fantasy 7.
how do i fix this? i have it instlled but i doesnt work a lil help?

I will give you a couple options if this does not work PM me first go to
control panel add/remove objects remove it if it is not there it is not installed.
check the back most games should have a code on the back it should look somthing like this 0000-0000000-0000000-0000 but with numbers when you install it a screne allowing this should come. if not tell me what happens and I will try to lead you through it
