Default Tales of Phantasia to See Release Outside of Japan

    It's about time.

The first game in Namco's Tales series has been released on three consoles: first on the Super Nintendo (called the Super Famicom in Japan) in 1995; then Sony's PlayStation in 1998, with a rerelease as part of the PlayStation The Best series in 2000; and lastly, the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in 2003. Despite the news of a European release, word of a North American release remains nonexistent. RPGamer would like the thank reader Kat_Ears_Kahrain for the tip.

I thought it came out on the European PSX?

I'll just import it. GBA doesn't have region coding, so I'll be satisfied.

It'll be interesting how they translate certain scenes, that's for sure

I still prefer the PSX version over the GBA one though

This is really good news. I enjoyed and beaten the emulator version. Can't wait to play this again

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

Haha, the comment about Arche screwing (in lieu of the correct word) like a tiger will be changed, along with the scene where she falls asleep at the table. :joey:

    Anyway, this is good news.

    Anyway, this is good news.

The former scenerio was just a "bad" translation on DeJap's part. The passing-out at the table scene, however, will more than likely be changed.

Never thought it would happen. It's time to consider translating Rebirth, too (and if Tales of the Abyss isn't released here, I swear I'll...I'll...complain a lot! - like it means much, anyway).
