Claymores, disorient with chaff and grenade to death.
Easy.
Same as Lindy, Oh, Plus, its a good idea to take out the terrorist shooting, if you have MGS1 for the GC

MGS:TS, it's best to Tranq the gunner with Stun Grenades, as well as Raven.
Anyone who got TS before the original is a pussy.

Chaff grenades are your friend here. Also, don't blow yourself up with the regular grenades. Oh yeah, and you can hide in some ditches, if I remember correctly. The ditches also act as friends.
throw a chaff. run up. avoid the machine gun. throw a grenade into the tank to take out the first gunner. repeat. keep the place chaffed and avoid the machine gun. don't get run over. don't lose sight of it.

Perhaps because they played MGS TS not so long after they played MGS1, they might think 'hmm, MGS1 has shoddy graphics, i'm gonna get MGS TS' (again i'm not referring to myself here, I don't think graphics are as important as gameplay)
I took out the tank with my fists. It took a great many hours of punching and running around but it eventually fell before my might.
Charge towards the tank, hold all four shoulder buttons, and tap Triangle just as you touch the tank. A cutscene will show Snake jumping on top of the tank, punching out the gunner, and throwing in a grenade, and then the standard cutscene you get after beating the tank will follow.
