I agree! Too many damn kids. I kinda like Jar Jar, though, but he gets annoying after the 400th 'Meesa Yoosa Poosa Floosa!'
I watched Clone Wars again recently, and realised how many stupid joke there are. Like when R2D2 is dragging C3P0s stupid head around, C3P0 says 'Oh, you're such a drag!' Goddamit, that's stupid.

The first trilogy had a sense of adventure that the newer one severely lacked.

Also, the droids in Revenge of the Sith make some rather childish sounds when they are been killed.

I voted for the originals, because while I like Episode 3, I really like ANH and RotJ also. 2>1.

I think neither set came even close to living up to their potential, but I find the newer ones more entertaining, if only for the fancy-pants crap all the time, and I'm a sucker for a love story even if the script called for the poor actors to choke on those awful lines.

It's really hard for me to say that one trilogy was better than the other. While I was disappointed with a lot of things in the newer episodes, they make the older ones more enjoyable and add some depth to the story and characters, even if the dialogue is crappy.

I love the prequels simply because they add to the overall storyline and they hold a lot of scenes that mirror or refer to specific ones in the originals. So, I guess, just because it is a Star Wars movie. But what each trilogy lacks, I think, is made up for in the other. Episodes I-III are more appealing visually, with all the special effects, new environments, etc., whereas Episodes IV-VI have a better plot and more likeable characters.

But I'm easy to please, I guess.

I like them all but the originals were better. They had better and more likable characters, stories and overall feeling. Episode 1 had some of that feeling. Episode 2 lacked and Episode 3 was similar in feeling to ep2 but done better. Out of all the VI Star Wars movies my favorite was Return of the Jedi: Awsome movie *sheads a tear thinking about the final space battle*....so damn magical. My favorite characters were Darth Vader (no surprise there) Han Solo and Luke, Anakin (ep3 only), Obi Wan and C3PO (cracked me up).

    Obi-Wan is my hero.

Anyway, the originals were far better storywise, and simply because the actors in the originals didn't make my ears bleed.

Though Episode 3 was pretty damn good.
    Obi-Wan really is the Greatest.

Yeah, Obi-Wan was pretty great, and it helps that he had two brilliant actors to play him.

    I agree.
Ewan Mcgregor and Alec Guinness were two very good choices.
It's hard to picture anyone else but those two playing him.

But which one of them made a better Obi-Wan?
    Very hard question.

I consider all the movies as one whole.

McGregor fleshed him out more, but he's more memorable with Guinness. The new ones may be remembered fondly by younger people down the road (though I have my doubts) but the way they'll feel about these movies is nothing compared with how everyone's felt about the originals all these years. I remember skipping school for a couple of days in Jr High when I had the flu one year. I watched all 3 original movies. Both days. And enjoyed it immensely both times. No freaking way can I do that with the new ones. Sitting through one is too much anymore. And it's not nostalgia talking. The originals were just all-around better. But I guess that depends on what you look for in a movie. The new ones had CG, characterd development (albeit horribly acted), and an intricate political plot.

What's really sad is I've seen some of the Making Of things on the DVDs and they talk about doing certain scenes dozens of times until Lucas is satisfied with the way it came off. And you see Samuel L Jackson spouting bland contrived dialogue and have to wonder.... After a dozen shootings, THAT's the feeling he WANTED? Everyone seemed so bland and lifeless. People had character, and heart in the originals. And the plot wasn't boring politics. It was pure adventure. As Del Pointed out. The new ones didn't feel like an adventure. They felt forced. It was a really boring, long, detailed history lesson.

I vote the originals, they will still be remembered more fondly.

Also... Palpatine/Sidius/Emperor. When he acquired the wrinkles. What the hell...? His head got HUGE. It obviously took way too much make-up to get those wrinkles. They must have screwed up layer after layer. Either that or they didn't do it on his actual fice like they should have. He was wearing some bulky mask. It was gross and totally unbelievable. I know make-up artists can do a MUCH better job than that. Granted it might take having someone sit still for 3 hours to do it on their actual face. But to me that's the way it's supposed to be. It would have came off a LOT better...

Palpatine looks rather constipated when he says to Anakin (just after acquiring his wrinkles)
'The force is sttrrrrrrooong in you' (he says something like that anyway)
