Default "Extraordinary Day" by Delta Goodrem - it ties in with Kairi's story!

You know what happened that night at Destiny Islands... a great force of evil invades the islands, the heartless conquer it, and Kairi loses her heart. The song "Extraordinary Day" by Australian singer Delta Goodrem captures it all. Here are the lyrics:

    Delta Goodrem - Extraordinary Day

    Album: Mistaken Identity/Born to Try

Change, like secrets in the wind I hear the whispers madame butterfly,
Spread your precious wings I watch you fly away,

I know, I can't change fate of that July the 8th and it was never the same,
I know, this stage is frightening but its oh so enlightening is this how karma goes.

Who would have thought when chance came calling that this would be my defining story and who could have guessed on my life's journey I could find my way through this extraordinary day.

Why? Had my universe gone mad?
    Was there no compassion?
    I was wrong.
So many loving hands reaching out to hold me.

I know, I can't change fate of that July the 8th and it was never the same.
I know, this stage is frightening but it's oh so enlightening is this how karma goes?

Who would have thought when chance came calling that this would be my defining story and who could have guessed on my life's journey I could find my way through this extraordinary day.

    Nothing is isolated.

I know, I can't change fate of that July the 8th and it was never the same,
I know, this stage is frightening but its oh so enlightening is this how karma goes?

    Extraordinary day,
This would be my defining story,
And who could have guessed on my life's journey I could find my way through this Extraordinary day.

Do you think that this song ties in with Kairi's story?
    Is that your final answer?

Well, Delta Goodrem was diagnosed with Hodskin lymphoma, a type of cancer. After treatment, she recorded her second album, Mistaken Identity. This song, "Extraordinary Day", tells everyone "who couldv'e known that this would be my defining story?" The date mentioned was July 8th. That seems to coincide with the story at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts when it is a summer night, and everything changes. Kairi loses her heart to the heartless, and the entire world was destroyed by the heartless. This song captures the entire spirit of what happened that night on Destiny Islands, focusing specifically on Kairi. That is why this song ties in with Kairi's story.

I can see it well. However, I believe the simpletons prefer an analogy relevant to the story for every lyric of the song.

Dont be a snob Mercen X because its certainly not a good song to compare the events too.

Yes I see what you're saying but if I really wanted to I could compare the lyrics in any pop song to some person or relationship in any RPG and it wouldnt mean they were connected at all.

    I'm not a snob

    I'm a miser.
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

What parts of the song lyrics did you find relevant and irrelevant to Kairi's story?
