No, not really. She's a vast improvent of Rinoa and wee bit of Garnet (one of favorite leads in Final Fantasy). She's really not that bad, the voice actress was decent and does deserve all the crap she gets because of it. Whoever says that she's useless doesn't seem to comprehend the fact that any character is ''useless'' if you make only one of them a power-house. I could eaisly say ''Auron sux!!1 useless!!1'' because my Tidus is way more powerful than him and has maxed stats as well.

well in terms of battle abilities, i liked yuna... and anyway, every character can be built up to the same strength in battle anyway, depending on their sphere grid path, so i guess that is irrelevant...
i terms of yuna as a person, i liked her also, but HATED her voice sooooo much... man it was so annoying at some points... i just cringed, turned the sound down and read the subs... not that i have anythin against yuna, but they could have given her a better voice...
