Before Crisis is indeed a prequel to FFVII, but it's a cellphone game - not available on any consoles, yet. Crisis Core will also be an FFVII prequel, possibly on the PSP.
Since Advent Children will be available on DVD, you'll be able to watch it on your PS2 or PS3.
It's for threads like these that I care to venture down to the lower half of EoFF.
