    Default Aussies in WORLD CUP!!!

Australia has made the Germany 06 world cup for the first time in 32 years tonight!!! with a win over Uruguay in a penalty shootout (4-2)... i still cant believe it, truely amazing...

i know that for all you people in UK etc... it doesnt mean much to qualify for the finals, cos you do it every time, but this is only the SECOND TIME EVER australia has made the world cup, and as i said, the last time was 32 years ago, so it means so much more... HELL YES!!!!

are there any other Aussies out there who are as pumped as i am!!!???

You guys qualified? Haha, that's awesome. I much prefer you to Uruguay, especially as a lot of your players play in our Premiership. Congratulations, maybe we'll get drawn in the same group, eh?

Hurrah! 32 years of heartbreak finally over!

And now that Australia have moved to the Asian confederation, I reckon we'll become a much more regular feature in future World Cup Finals.

I love the way Kewell always kicks arse in Internationals, but blows serious chunks when he plays for Liverpool...

    I don't.

I think it's stupid that one of the non-European playoffs was Australia v Uruguay and the other was Bahrain v Trinidad & Tobago. No offence to Bahrain or T&T, but Uruguay and Australia are clearly a lot better than both of them. Ah well.

In the other playoffs, it looks like Bahrain will go through, although it's very close and I'm supporting T&T. As for the European ones, Spain are cruising v Slovakia, Switzerland are currently holding an advantage over Turkey, while the Czech. Republic currently have a slim lead over Norway.

Oh i forgot about this match! Yay! two Blackburn Players are going to be playing in the World Cup!!!

Though the Aussies stand no chance of winning the WC, i would like to see them two players i mentioned do well and get noiticed.

England will be the supreme victors! Mwuahahaha COME ON ENGLAND!

yeh i know we dont stand a chance of winning the world cup, but i hope we can at least do alright... win a few games, score some goals. we got a while to train, and if Guus can do so much in only 4 weeks (thats how long he had to train them before this match) then by next year, we should have improved heaps!!

World Cup USA '94, no England since we failed to qualify, after not winning by a large enough margin against friggin' San Marino.

Don't rule out Slovakia; Spain are reknowned for having no consistency at all, and Slovakia have proved themselves a fair few times in recent years of being capable to pull a few shocks.

Also, Kewell hasn't played well on a club level since her left Leeds, which is a shame, since he used to be ownage there, under David O' Leary's managership.

the last spots were taken by Spain, Czech Rep, Switzerland, Australia and Trinidad & Tobago
