    I dont know how to operate it

    The only directions given are how to download it

    If its the .txt file your trying to direct me to i cant read that file type for some reason

    btw

    5) Open the emulator, load the rom, and you're set!

    is what i need help on because whenever i open the .exe they close by themselves

    Before theyexit i can catch a glimpse of what looks like (~~~~ used in illegible areas)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~copywrite~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    DOS/~~~ Fatal Error~~~ (~~~) Syntax ~~~~ <~~~.xxx.>
    Okay, first of all, you're not specifying which emulator you're using. All I can tell is that it's a DOS based one that needs to open the file with the program or it crashes. I'm also guessing you're running it from windows since you're using the word "close". Run the command prompt, open the directory that the emulator is in, then run the executable. This time you'll be able to see the full syntax you need to use. Just do as it says.
    I don't know why you can't view the .txt but if you're using windows, try opening it with notepad as well as word. The shortcomings of one program are compensated for by another.
    Now, what did we learn today?
    DJzen is the lord and master of information
    OK!
    Well i tried running it in Command Prompt and it at least doesnt exit and i get this message:
    DOS/4GW Protected Mode Run-time Version 1.97 Copyright <c> Rational Systems, Inc. 1990-1994
    Dos/4GW fatal error <1004>: syntax is DOS4GW <Executable.xxx>
    So at least i get to see the whole error message
    and then when i tried DOS4GW <ff1.exe> i got like 8 error messages
    I have no idea which emulator they provide here, but I can tell you how to use the command prompt. Just go to the start menu, click on "run" then type command in the text field. Then hit enter. After that you have to navigate to the directory that the emulator is in. Let's say it's in C:\program files\emulators\NES. To get there you have to start out in the root directory (C:\ with nothing following it). If it starts you out someplace weird just type cd.. until you're in the root directory. From there type the following
    cd\program files
    enter
    cd\emulators
    enter
    cd\NES
    enter
    Then you'll be in the right directory. From here, run the executable. Let's say it's NESticle, to run it just type nesticle.exe and it will get started. Since you're already in the command prompt it will just display the message without closing the window. Probably you just need to type something like nesticle.exe ff1us.nes but if that doesn't do it, please please please please PLEASE try to read the documentation.
