Every goddamn movie based on historical events is just a horrible, horrible failure.

    That said, though, Pearl Harbor.

The Patriot was terrible, Mel Gibson sure knows how to go off on one.
Pear Harbour was probably the worst movie I have ever seen. Plan 9 from outer space was better and more accurate in terms of history.

And if it was such a bad movie, how come it blitzed the oscars ?
If the Oscars are so accurate, how come Martin Scorsese hasn't got five?

    Also: Braveheart.

I was feeling smug, because I had read through the entire thread without someone mentioning the steaming pile of kilt that I intended to post about, and now it seems the very last word has stabbed me in the back.

Come on people, how can you say Braveheart and Saving Private Ryan are bad movies? Those are classics. Yeah, Mel Gibson is a bit of a loon but that movie kicked ass, and the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan when their storming the beach was outstanding. The Patriot wasnt that bad either but Steven Segals version is better.

That being said i think Alexander and Gangs of New York werent that great to me, Alexander was way over dramatic, it seems every five minutes he is giving a speech about something, and Gangs of New York builds up to this climatic battle that ends so suddenly when it was leading up to it the whole movie.

    FREEEEEDOOOOOM!
