Default I want to make movies.

Have you ever been watching a movie that just had one perfect scene where the acting was beautiful, the perspective well suited to display all the elements of import, the music gripping and well fit, and the editing just so skillfully done? Did you ever feel the need to be a part of that? In essence, has any movie ever in the history of moviedom made YOU want to make something like it?

This isn't about your favorite scene from your favorite movie, it's about a scene from any movie or any number of movies that was practically breathtaking. So wonderful that you wished you could do it.

So... uhm what is it? xD

    Signature by rubah. I think.

A scene that I wished I had come up with, would have to be Spinals Tap's Ampifers that go to 11.

    Owen made this sig. R.I.P.

Sin City. It is, without a doubt one of the best pieces of film making I have ever seen.

Scrap that, it's a piece of art.

    I loves it.
Even if your heart would listen, I doubt I could explain...

Hero, House of Flying Daggers or Crouching Tiger Hidden dragon.
I wish I was a part of the story. That I could fly about and smash up other ninjas in a nice frock. I would love it.
I really just say this because NINJAS ARE COOL!, but they are quite... 'beautiful'. Very clever, both cinematicaly (me thinks that be right) and in plot.

That's what a whole lotta films do to me. Which is why I'm a film student.

The one that's on the top of my mind right now is the collision montage at the end of The Godfather. So, so beautifully done. To the point that it doesn't inspire me, so much as it intimidates me. The juxtaposition between the baptism with the murders of all the other Dons was flawless. Perfect filmmaking right there.

Yeah, the ending of "Requiem For A Dream", the opening space scene of "2001", the Jaguar Shark encounter scene in "Life Aquatic", and pretty much all of "Donnie Darko".

That film is the epitome of awesomeness. It's such a shame so few people have seen it. It's so moving.

Mine too. And the soundtrack is pretty cool, too!

Quite a few of my friends found it too disturbing though. I suppose it is - it's because technically it could happen, and probably does happen.

Some people get freaked out by that. Aranovsky's work is great though.
