They're for drying kitchen utensils and the like, they usually have scary motif's, sometimes of children's self-portraits or countries.

Usually white, but I have one with Grace Jones on it, that way when I wipe something juicy off the table I think of her juiciness.
Blue and white stripes, mostly, but I think there's one that's just plain blue. I saw a green one once, but I think it just hadn't been washed in a while...
Oh, lots of different ones!
I got them for free too 'cause there was no price tag and the check-out guy didn't feel like dealing with it so he just tossed them in the bag. xD
