They did... I recall once Wakka said his name, but it was not in Voice Acting, I never noticed they did not say his name until I read so..
I could of swore there was another thread about this but I can't find it. Anyway, they never say Tidus' name because you can name him anything. The technology could't allow itself to know more than one thing or else the cast members would spend forever making every letter combination. I didn't notice it until my 2nd play through the game to.![]()
if they put MS Sam into the game, they could say his name, no matter what you named hi, but, that would just sound wierd
So yeah, its the same reason they never say the aeon names.
there's no I in team, but there is in pie, as in meat pie, and meat is an anogram of team
if you name people on a game with speech it makes it vey hard for anone to say that characters name.its quite obvious why.

...*holds up free hugs sign.*
they never say his name because at the very beginning you have the choice to choose Tidus name
yeah.. i only realized that when we finished the game. I tried to replace Tidus' name with another but my brother just won't let me... *sigh*
banner & avatar by me!
Duh!
in FFX2 too, they only refer to him as "he" or "him"
it is kinda awkward...why dont they just make the name Tidus uneditable from the start like others.
Tidus' name is spoken in KH...
But it is never mentioned in FFX, because his name is user defined.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.
He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
But when they let you name the character, you can never figure out how to pronounce the name...![]()
eh?
His name appears in a lot of text conversations - in Zanarkand, then Besaid and Luca - but is never spoken, for aforementioned reasons. Personally, I think it would've been better if they'd simply given him a 'set' name. It would've made the spoken dialogue less awkward; and besides, he's called Tidus in the end credits anyway.
yeah when talking to people but not sayed big dummy.. (joking) anyways OT- why is your guy now a pemp big d?
It proves that you do not have to say somebody's name often, I knew this person I talked too, realized I never knew the name...
