And anyway, I just picked up the new ablum and was giddy with excitement as I skipped back to my car. I've only listened to it once, but I'm already likeing it. I'll have to listen to it a couple more time before I create an accurate view, but it's pretty good so far.

Well, I like System of a Down. Really much like. Good music and damn good political messages (or something)! I've heard some of the new album. As a whole, I don't think it's as good as earlier albums, but still very good. It's a little strange, yes, a slightly different style. But it's interesting to hear. I like it.

For someone who has a quik reference 101-Genres chart tatooted onto the inside of their eyelids, you're pretty ignorant.cI don't like them because they suck. Heh. They are honestly the same old nu-metal, aka, hard-rock (with some metal influences, but few), with Armenian musical <img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"> thrown in there. Woo. Big deal? I don't get the whole big deal over them, especially from the kids who claim them to be inventive.
Hard rock is from the 70s and early 80s- stuff like ACDC and Deep Purple, to name a few. They're metal, plain and simple. Not heavy metal, though a few songs could be, but metal none the less. Alternative metal, they're usually called.
And just because you don't like Armenian folk music doesn't mean it's 'little-skull little-skull little-skull little-skull'.
No-one ever said they inventive because they had folk influences. At lest, not the band themselves. Besides, the first bands to mix folk and rock were guys like Jethro Tull, not post-black-dark-evil-aaargh-satan-I'm-so-cool-metal bands.It is honestly not that inventive at all to use folk elements in ones music, many bands have been doing it for years. However if you just like the sound, than I feel incredibly sorry for your ears.
