Well actually both are wrong (unless of course the 'I' in 'Tiphereth' is pronounced with an 'e' sound). Tifa is pronounced 'Tee-fa'. Yes I do have back up. Ahem. The vowel 'I' in Japanease is pronounced as an 'e' sound. Also if the name was pronounced as Tiff - ah, then there would be two 'f's' to shorten the 'I' sound - Tiffa.
