Ragnarok means the end of the world- also norse- and is one of Cloud's weapons.

Back to Sephiroth, Masamune is the legendary sword forged by Masamune (the word means Fron of blade(Masa), Back of blade(Mune)) and is the 'peaceful' blade, which if put in the river would not allow a single leaf to be cut by it, instead it cut the water so the leaf would be redirected((Muasame was the rival of it, the blodthirsty blade, that cut every leaf floating near it)) and hence it didn't gather Aeris's blood.

Safer Sephiroth has wings, because he is the stereotype of Christian Angels, a warrior angel from heaven had 6 wings on his back. His theme is "The One Winged Angel" due to the deformed right arm he has. He has the form he does, because he accomplished his goal to "become a god" and because it would help to fight mentally the heroes, as they would be fighting something generally heavenly and holy in nature, whether they beleive he is holy or not. (Appearances are hard to get over.) And also the halo... angel etc.

His attack "Pale Horse" refers to the horse Jesus would appear riding upon the war of Armageddon, I beleive leading the 4 hosemen of the apocolypse(Famin Pestelence another one and then Death) His SuperNova, refers to his Meteor... nuff said there.(Knights of the Round, refer to King Arthur's knights, who searched for the holy grail)
That pretty much sums Sephiroth up. :kaoplain:
