I want to go to those haunted castles, Ireland sounds like great place and looks like it too.
Leprachauns anyone?

Ireland really isn't that great. You know how long it took me to get broadband? 8 smurfing years. 8.

Like Boris said. Part irish, never actually been there.
I'm a quarter Irish. xD
Theres nothing actually special about Ireland, its just another Sussex Clone. With a different accent. If you move to UK, do the right thing, move to london, to civilization !
People like Ireland for the beauty, I think. Since it's not very affected by civilization, it's very naturally, rolling green hills, rivers snaking through, etc.
IRISH ACCENTS OWN! OWN MY LIFE! TAKE ME ALL!
Colin Farrel is from Ireland.

On Ireland. I live here. There are a few big cities. Belfast is an industrial Victorian city, a big grey mass surrounded on 3 sides by mountain & one with the sea. It's quite surreal looking at it from Cave Hill which I've climbed many times (so called due to the neolithic caves dug out thousands of years ago by people with time on their hands and no TV). The great thing about Ireland is that you are never more than 10 minutes away from a location your mood swing craves. Belfast has a great night life, bustling Cathedral City & for your hangover a quick drive takes you to the quiet bliss of an accessable mountain with a view to kill for.
Belfast itself is still heavily influenced by it's very troubled past, although we are growing as a city in peace, the 'Peace Lines' that still sepatate Protestants & Catholics (which tourists like to sign) & numerous murals won't let us forget any time soon.
Ireland's history is amazing & tragic in equal amounts & it has shaped our outlook on life. The laid back attitude derives from being through hell & back & realising there are worse things to worry about than what time it is. Despite the troubles we are, on the whole, a very very friendly people with a wit only matched by our English invaders & neighbours.
I don't really mind if people don't like it. I've lived here my life & my childhood was surrounded by bombs & british soldiers, an image that, I believe, would have eternally haunted me if it was not for the rolling green hills & ancient castles. I was able to escape to a world of my own when things got bad. The landscape was my stage & the castles were the props.
The only thing I can suggest is give it a chance, I'm willing to guarantee once you visit you will never forget it. The one back point is, as people have pointed out, the weather. Someone once said that in Ireland, if you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes & it'll change.
I love my country, not nationalistically, well, not any more, but historically & geographically, for such a small country, it's landscape still amazes me & probably always will.
Apart from all that, I live here and I'm feckin fantastic.
PS: My wife took all the photos.
The accent is amazing. It's probably fake, but the man on Titanic's voice is amazing![]()
I think I should very much like to go to Ireland![]()
